23rd May 2008 - Travelling to work just got easier

The Edinburgh Office recently commissioned Transport Consultants, Vipre and the Energy Savings Trust to carry out a transport survey for all staff working within Edinburgh Office venues.

This survey and the resultant travel plan are now complete and will deliver significant benefits for everyone, such as:

Better accessibility through development of transport options Encouraging the use of alternative modes of transport, such as cycling, walking, public transport and trip sharing. These modes of transport can reduce the number of single occupancy vehicles entering an area and can significantly reduce parking and traffic congestion issues.  In turn, this will help to improve the general amenity and accessibility of the site.

Social & environmental responsibility
Many organisations are looking for ways to demonstrate their commitment to corporate social and environmental responsibility. Active support for the goals of our Travel Plan will help demonstrate this commitment such as through the reduction of transport-related carbon dioxide emissions.
